Shoebox Appeal - Shoeboxes due back to Church today please.

CHRISTMAS FAIR 
SATURDAY 7th DECEMBER 
2.00 to 4.00 PM. 
The Tuesday Life Group are organising the Raffle and would welcome items that will fill two hampers:
1. Items for a Christmas Hamper (Christmas pudding, biscuits, Tea ,Coffee etc etc.)
2. Toiletries (soap, shampoo, shower gel, etc etc.)
Please pass items on to Jill, Pete, Lorraine, or put them in the box at the back of the church.
The Wednesday Life Group are doing the Adult Tombola, so any gifts for this stall will be welcome, please pass them on to Marika, Thelma, or any of the Wednesday group or put them in the box at the back of the church.
Also, please see list on the table and add your name

if you are willing to help or can run a stall
 
Ladies Group – Christmas Meal - at DC-6 DINER on Wednesday 11th December at 7.30pm. If you would like to go please give your name & £5 deposit to Stella.

Life Groups - We meet in small groups at various times through the week to help us to grow and to learn about God. Please speak to Clive to find out more or to explore which group might best suit you.

Cathedral Praise - Coventry Cathedral are keen to develop a partnership with us as a neighbouring church. We are all invited to join with them every Sunday evening at 6.30pm for Cathedral Praise. This is especially useful if you were busy serving during the morning service here.

• National Adoption Week - we give thanks for the adoption services in this country. We pray for all those children who await families in which they can belong permanently.
• the ministry of BORCAS - Bishop's Officers for the Retired Clergy and Spouses. We pray for members of the team including Bishop David and Dorothy Evans, Mary Crameri and Clive Harper as they seek to care for and keep in touch with 320 retired clergy and spouses across the diocese, governing and decision-making bodies in the Church of England; for General Synod, Church Commissioners, Archbishop's Council and the many other committees and groups that serve the national Church.

DCC Meeting - today after Worship

Ros’s “church-warming”: We have ALL been invited to a family-friendly tea and church service at St Mark’s Leamington to wish Ros well in her new role at that church. It is on TODAY at 5.30pm. We will meet at church at 4.45pm.  We will be offered tea and cakes: they would welcome donations of cakes.

Ladies Group - Tuesday 22nd October at 7.30pm, 103 Strathmore Avenue - coffee evening and planning November & December.

We will be doing the Shoebox Appeal again this year. Leaflets are available at the rear of the Church. The voluntary donation with each box is £3, please read the leaflet. Please return your Shoeboxes to Church by November 3rd.

Harvest Festival

                                     Tea Bags/instant coffee
                                     Instant mash potato
                                    Rice/pasta/instant noodles
                                    Tinned meat/fish
                                    Tinned fruit
                                        Jam
                                        Biscuits or snack bars
 
Coventry foodbank provides a minimum of three days non-perishable
emergency food to local people in crisis. All food given out is donated by the
local community.They work in partnership with frontline care professionals 
to identify people in need.

MODULE 2 SAFEGUARDING CHILDREN TRAINING - Tuesday 15th October 7.15pm – 9.30pm at St Anne & All Saints Church, Acacia Avenue, Coventry CV1 2AN. Training for those who have completed the Basic Safeguarding Children training and are in a leadership role within the church such as children’s and youth workers, parish safeguarding officers, church wardens and those who wish to look at safeguarding children in more depth.

Harvest Service: Our harvest service is on Sunday 20th October. During the service we will collect for Coventry Foodbank.

Ros’s “church-warming”: We have ALL been invited to a family-friendly tea and church service at St Mark’s Leamington to wish Ros well in her new role at that church. It is on Sunday 20th October at 5.30pm. On the sheet at the back of church please add your name to the list of people who will be joining us and indicate whether you will need a lift.
