85th Celebration Service of St Anne & All Saints' Church - next Sunday 6th December at 4pm. This will be followed with a Celebration Buffet. If you are able to donate food, please see list in the entrance hall. 

Coventry Night Shelter - starts at our church on Sunday 6th December.  Please pray for this venture; for safety and strength for all involved in running it and for God to bless the guests who will benefit from it. Please pray that God’s love is made known, and also that the guests are able to make real progress in getting off the streets permanently. There are likely to be other overheads, so any monetary donations would be welcomed, if that is how you feel called to respond. If you can possibly help, the more volunteers we have, the less often each person needs to volunteer. Please speak to Elke. 

Coventry Food Bank - most needed products are coffee, tins of fruit, nappies and baked beans please. They have plenty of pasta and cereals at the moment. Also plastic carrier bags

• The Coventry Foodbank contents are taken each week to the Hope Centre in Hillfields.

  Foundation for Relief and Reconciliation in the Middle East at St.George's Church, 
  Baghdad, Iraq.

• As Advent begins we pray: Come, Lord Jesus, do not delay; give new courage to your 
  people, who trust in your love. By your coming, raise us to share in the joy of your  
  kingdom on earth as in heaven, where you live and reign with the Father and the Spirit, 
  one God for ever and ever. Amen. 
• Through the busyness of Advent and Christmas we pray for all clergy, Readers and 
  Licensed Lay Workers throughout the diocese. We also pray for choirs and musicians, 
  those writing liturgy and those leading it – for energy, excitement and joy in sharing the 
  wonder of the Incarnation. 
• France is hosting the 21st Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations 
  Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 21) from November 30th to December 
 11th. We pray for wisdom for all delegates, and for outcomes from this conference which 
  will make a significant difference. 
• We pray for the Diocesan Board of Education, and for all schools and places of learning 
  throughout the diocese; that they may they celebrate the true meaning of Advent and 
  Christmas together. 
• For the second year, the Mothers’ Union are holding an event as part of an international 
  campaign: '16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence'. We pray for the event   
  on Saturday at Coventry Cathedral, and for Kudakwashe Nyakudya from Kahrmel 
  Wellness who is the keynote speaker. We also pray for the success of this campaign 
  throughout the world.

LIFE Course - Keeping Health in Mind This is a six week skills-based LIFE Course to better equip people to cope with the stresses and strains of life. It is for anyone who sometimes feels a bit overwhelmed by circumstances. Running on Mondays from 1:30pm till 3pm and repeated on Tuesday evenings 7.30pm to 9pm.

Charterhouse Priory of St Anne Open Day on Saturday 28th November, 12:00-4:00pm

City Praise and Prayer on Sunday at 6:30pm at The Welcome Centre, Parksidei.A wonderful event that seeks to gather Christians, regardless of denomination or stream, to lift up the name of Jesus together in praise and to pray with one voice for God's Kingdom to come in the City of Coventry.

• This is National Adoption Week, where people are being encouraged to consider 
  adopting.  It's a huge responsibility, but one that comes with great rewards. Please pray

• On Monday we pray for the inauguration of the new General Synod in London, and for the 
  representatives from our Diocese: Bishop Christopher, Andrew Attwood, Charlotte Gale, 
  Ruth Walker, Sam Margrave, Yvonne Warren, Andrew Williams 
• Next 27th Friday is 'Buy Nothing Day'. The developed countries take up only 20% of the 
  earth - yet  we use up over 80% of the planet's natural resources. This leads to 
  environmental damage and an unfair wealth distribution. You need do just one 
  thing: buy nothing! Please pray for this initiative.

• We pray for the Civic Service at 7pm in Coventry Cathedral today to commemorate the 
  bombing of Coventry. In the words of the Dean, John Witcombe, "We pray for the 
  opportunity to look back at the reality of destruction in our world, or even in our own lives, 
  but at the same time to draw strength to look forward in the power of resurrection and new 
  life in Christ." 
• This is Alcohol Awareness Week. Issues with alcohol seem to be increasing and more  
  and more school children are getting drunk before they've even reached adulthood. We 
  pray for those whose lives are being damaged by drink, and for the impact this has on 
  family and friends 
• We thank God for all those who serve as clergy in the diocese. We pray for strength and 
  energy, especially during this busy term. We remember those who are struggling in 
  ministry and ask for God's blessing on them. 
• This is Anti-Bullying Week. The theme this year is 'Make a noise about bullying'. All 
  themes deal with the serious issue of bullying in any form. We pray for all who are being 
  bullied, and for initiatives that aim to prevent it.

Knitwitness Project for Night Shelters If you are able to knit or help by donating Double knit weigh wool (not pure wool), knitting needles, crochet hooks, for squares to be made into blankets, please see instructions at rear of church Straight Method: DK – cast on 33 stitiches, knit 58 rows, cast of loosely. Squares should be 6” or 15.25 cm square.

  events taking place in the city this weekend to commemorate this anniversary. The events

  across Europe
