Plans announced for WW1 centenary events: 
Service of Commemoration at Coventry Cathedral - Sunday 3 August at 8:00 pm. A service to commemorate the beginning of the First World War will be held in Coventry Cathedral.
Commemorative event in the Cathedral Ruins - Sunday 3 August at 1:30 pm, 3:00 pm and 9:30 pm. The Cathedral Ruins will be the venue for a public commemoration of the start of the First World War.
Coventry commemorates around the War Memorial - Monday 4 August at 11:00 am. The Bishop of Coventry will lead a short service around the War Memorial in the Memorial Park, to commemorate those who were caught up in the courageous but tragic events of the First World War. The service will include the laying of wreaths.

Parking Permits - Please be advised that the scheme is still under review and displaying the old out of date permits is still being advised. The review is being undertaken by the Traffic Management Team and will soon be resolved.

• We thank God for the ministry of Lay Readers in our churches. We pray for God's blessing on them and the ministry to which they have been called. We thank God for all lay leaders and preachers, and remember especially those who are offering extra time during the summer holidays.
• for those injured and for the families and friends of those who have been killed on the roads this year. Pray for care, wisdom and safety for all those who drive.
• Heavenly Father, the earth is yours and the harvests are your bounty. We pray for our farmers. We ask your blessing on the harvest and on all who work in farming. We ask that farmers facing difficult times may know your love and our support.
• We thank God for all those who serve as Spiritual Directors, mentors and guides and pray for God's wisdom for each of them. We pray for those who are in need of support in their faith, that they may find and receive the guidance they need.
• We pray for all young people at universities, colleges and schools who are waiting for their results. Pray that they might not be anxious, but that they put their trust in God for the outcome of these exams.
• We pray for all who have the opportunity to find refreshment through a holiday. We pray for all those working in the hospitality and travel industries providing holidays for others. We remember those who are not able to take time away due to financial pressures or health problems.
• We pray for all families with school-age children. We thank God for the rest and fun that many children will enjoy this summer. We pray for families for whom the extended holiday can bring extra tension, conflict or hardship.

We pray for continued access to support, and enthusiasm for making new disciples in all areas of this diocese. We pray for the Mission Fund Committee which meets on Wednesday.

• Monday marks the start of National Transplant Week. Current statistics suggest that only 31% of us in the UK have joined the organ donor register. We pray for all the efforts that will go in to raising awareness and improving registration this week. We ask God to help each of us make a wise decision about organ donation. We pray for those who are waiting for a transplant .
• We pray for Bishop Christopher and Bishop John as they conduct interviews with the 2nd year curates on Wednesday and for all the curates in the diocese during their different stages of training.
