Sorry this is late again.  Yesterday we celebrated Mary Magdalene's devotion to Jesus and enjoyed the return of the Rev Nic Blackwell who will be taking next week's service as well while Rev Clive is on holiday.

Notices

Adults wanting to find out about Confirmation. If you would like to know about being confirmed please add your name to the list at the back of church. There will be some preparation sessions in the autumn.

Connecting with young adults. Are you interested in how we as church can connect with young adults? Fancy helping with something new and exciting? Please speak to Clive.

Luncheon Club. The Luncheon Club meets every other Monday. Communion upstairs at 11.30am is followed by lunch downstairs at 12.30. Please speak to Janice. Bring your friends!


Prayer meetings meet on Tuesday evenings, 7.30-9pm at the Vicarage. All Welcome. However there will not be a meeting this week or next week while Rev Clive is on holiday.

Ladies Group BBQ is tonight Monday 23rd July 24 Seneschal Rd.

20 years Celebration Tea at the Ritz. Train tickets are £20 return, already booked. Please give money to Stella Tea at the Ritz = £42, payable 9th Sept. All non-refundable

Alpha Course.  In September we will be running an Alpha Course. Alpha is a non-pressurised, fun and informative course. It is a place to share your thoughts and explore the meaning of life. The course is designed primarily for people who don't go to church or who haven't been to church in a long time and are interested in the Christian faith. Who might you invite? If you would like to do the course yourself, who could you bring with you?
 
Please pray for:-
·         Peace in the world
·         The Global economies at this difficult time
·         For teachers and children as they break up from school for the summer and for those leaving education and looking for work.
·         We continue to pray for those who were ordained this month, as they begin to adjust to all the changes in their self-perception, lifestyle and role and in working through the perceptions and expectations of others. Pray that they may be become infectious evangelists and diligent pastors.
·      We pray for the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games and all the events that will take place during the coming weeks. We pray for all athletes, organisers, volunteers and spectators; for safety and goodwill between nations.
·         The Elliot family whose daughter Imogen is poorly

Prayer for Today
Almighty God, whose Son restored Mary Magdalene to health of mind and body and called her to be a witness to his resurrection; forgive our sins and heal us by your grace, that we may serve you in the power of his risen life; who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
