The best bit is that every purchase you make online creates a donation for St .Anne & All Saints Church and costs you absolutely nothing!
Coventry Night Shelter
- as well as needing people, we are also in need of sleeping bags, pillows, pillow cases and sleeping bag liners, and we will need volunteers to help by washing the liners and pillow slips each week.
- there are also likely to be other overheads so any monetary donations would be welcomed if that is how you feel called to respond.
But, most importantly…please be praying for this venture, for safety and strength for all involved in running it and for God to bless the guests who will be benefitting from it. Please pray that God’s love is made known, and also that the guests are able to make real progress in getting off the streets permanently.
If you can possibly help, the more volunteers we have, the less often each person needs to volunteer. The actual weekly rota is being done locally by Elke.
Charity Collections - Please remember to bring:
- used stamps to put in the basket for the Leprosy Mission.
- milk bottle tops for Myton Hospice
- ring pulls from cans for the Philippine Community Fund.
- The Coventry Foodbank box is at the back of church and its contents are taken each week to the Hope Centre in Hillfields. New Shopping Lists are available to help you remember what they need.
- Coins to put in our Say No to Coppers bottle as we support Canon Andrew White and the Foundation for Relief and Reconciliation in the Middle East at St.George's Church, Baghdad, Iraq
Please pray for:
• the peace of the whole world, for the welfare of the Holy Church of God, and for the unity of all.
• The Global economies at this difficult time
• All those who use our building
• We thank God for those who write songs and hymns for us to use in worship. We praise God for the wide variety of music available to us and for the songs and hymns that have helped us in our faith journey. We pray that God would stir us in musical worship and bless all those who lead, sing and play instruments.
• We pray for those who are unable to leave their homes. We ask God to give encouragement and friendship for those who feel alone. We pray that we would all be aware of those people in our communities who are vulnerable, lonely or without support, and that we would be wise and compassionate in our care for them
• At the end of Go Green Week, we pray for our role and responsibility for the world and the environment. We thank God for this complex and beautiful planet, and ask for forgiveness for the times we have abused and misused the resources provided for us. We ask God to help us develop a long-term, responsible and compassionate attitude to the environment.
• Pray for pupils and staff of schools who are on half term this week. We pray for rest and relaxation as well as time to prepare for the next half term. We remember all those children who struggle with school, have been suspended, excluded and for those who offer them support and care.
Pray for those in special need at this time and those recovering from illness:
Phil Smith; Susan McMillan; Colin O’Shea; Steve Brooker; Fred Wiles; J R Lindsey; Pam Howes
Prayer for Today
Eternal God, whose Son went among the crowds and brought healing with his touch: help us to show his love, in your Church as we gather together, and by our lives as they are transformed into the image of Christ our Lord. Amen.
