Contemplative Prayer Service - Sunday 26th July
After our successful introduction of this monthly service last month, we are looking forward to being together again this Sunday evening. If you would like to come and join us, we will open the church for refreshments at 6.30pm, with prayer starting at 7.00pm. We aim to finish no later than 8.00pm. If you have any friends who also have a heart for contemplative prayer, please feel free to bring them. We look forward to seeing you.
Refreshments: Tea, coffee, squash and biscuits are available after the service at the back of church. Please do feel free to come and help yourself at our self service tables.
Serving each other in church - It is great that we are able to depend on each other as so many people help out in so many different ways in church. Sometimes it isn't possible to make it when we are on a rota, but please do remember to try to arrange someone to cover if you aren't able to help in the way that was planned, and please do check your rota regularly.
Coventry Food Bank most needed product is cartons of Long Life Milk please.
Charity Collections - Please remember to bring & put in drawers at rear of church: • used stamps for the Leprosy Mission. • ring pulls from cans for the Philippine Community Fund. • The Coventry Foodbank contents are taken each week to the Hope Centre in Hillfields. New Shopping Lists are available to help you • Coins to put in our I Hate Coppers bottle as we support Canon Andrew White and the Foundation for Relief and Reconciliation in the Middle East at St.George's Church, Baghdad, Iraq. • Individual collection boxes for The Children’s Society. Please see Janice
Please pray:
• For the peace of the whole world, for the welfare of the Holy Church of God, and for the unity of all.
• For all those using our building
• For God's blessing upon the church members and the local community.
• For blessing and protection for Clive, Ali and all the family.
• We thank God for the rest and fun that many children will enjoy this summer. We pray for families for whom the extended holiday can bring extra tension, conflict or hardship.
• We pray for safe travel for all those going on holidays this summer. Please give care and wisdom to all responsible for carrying passengers on public transport.
• We thank God for the provision of the Mission Fund and for the support it has offered to many churches and deaneries in their projects and efforts in mission. We pray for continued access to support, and enthusiasm for making new disciples in all areas of this diocese.
Pray for those in special need at this time and those recovering from illness:
Colin O’Shea; Les Cave; J R Lindsey; Kaine Veal; Angela Justice; Chris Edmunds; Brian Groves; Ross Spriggs; Jackie Adams
Prayer for Today
Lord God, your Son left the riches of heaven and became poor for our sake: when we prosper save us from pride. When we are needy save us from despair, that we may trust in you alone; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
